The Waters story began in 1894, with GE Waters offering “a little bit of everything” to the small town of Manchester, KS. With the goal of pursuing a higher education for his children, GE moved his company to nearby Junction City in 1905. It was there that his grandson and great-grandson, Bob and Jim Waters, oversaw the largest expansion of the company, as well as its partnership with the True Value Company.
Today, Waters operates one of the largest and most respected groups of True Value stores in the country. Store Managers or Manager Trainee Program
Waters True Value is expanding and is looking for leaders to manage our new stores as we continue to grow our 122 year old company!
The following qualifications are required
- Ability to relocate
- Be an exceptional leader (20-50 team members in a 20,000-40,000 sq. ft. facility)
- Collaborate and work within a detailed budget
- Enjoy home improvement
Initially you would be put into a supervisor position at our Wamego, KS location as a supervisor / manager trainee. Length of time can range from 6 months to three years. Career development will be on-going as you learn more about our company and its goals with a manager training program held at our corporate office in Salina, KS. Successful completion of the class is required for advancement. On-line training will also be used.
The manager trainee position pay range is $26,000 – $38,000 annually. Benefits include: paid health insurance; profit sharing; 401(k) plan w/ company match; paid vacation, sick leave and merchandise discount.
Store manager pay range starts at $42,000 – $55,000 per year. Benefits include: paid health insurance; profit sharing [5% of store profits]; 401(k) plan w/ company match; paid vacation, sick leave and merchandise discount.
